The more I watch it, the more it pisses me off
No, not American Idol. You’re safe from that here at Girl on the Right.
Do any of you watch House? I love Hugh Laurie. I love the snarky character he plays. But am I the only one who thinks that he’s just about the worst doctor ever?
Every episode is like nothing he’s ever seen before! and then he pokes, prods and tortures the patient while coming up with a series of hypothetical diseases before he accidentally figures out what the problem is. How long has this dude been practicing medicine? And worse yet, why do I think he’s every doctor at Montreal’s Lakeshore General Hospital? That’s the only place I’ve ever seen that kind of incompetence writ large in real life.
Has this show been put out and funded by the people for Hillarycare? I mean, maybe they’re trying to get people to lower their expectations before they bring in socialized medicine.

I think Hugh Laurie has got one thing right in the program is that his attitude towards the patients very well could arise from House’s recognition that he does not sit on the throne and probably does not sit at God’s right hand either. But, like Lucifer, smolders with the indignity of it all.

House takes cases that no other doctors can figure out. He is bound to make a mistake or two. My doctor probably couldn’t even figure it out if I had Lupus!!

It’s still called the Lakeshore General? I’m surprised it has’nt been renamed something less.. English. Le Centre Lucien Bouchard or something.

The reason is every disease he deals with is either extremely rare or presenting in an atypical fashion. And very often the patient or friend/relative of the patient is lying about a piece of information vital to the correct diagnosis/treatment. If you’re thinking he’s incompetent, perhaps you don’t understand the premise of the show.

Heh. Have you seen the episode with the dwarfs? Best. Ep. Evah.

The B&E on the patient’s house or apartment always leads them up a blind alley too. I don’t know why they bother. They should probably just go straight to waterboarding the friend/relative.
