Some common sense has prevailed in the UK, where the teenage boy arrested for “insulting” Scientology has been given a pass from the courts.
But Ghost of a Flea has some interesting details about how the kid may have gotten himself arrested in the first place:
Two years ago, the City of London police attracted criticism when it emerged more than 20 officers, ranging from constable to chief superintendent, had accepted gifts worth thousands of pounds from the Church of Scientology.

But the rumor I heard was that the investigation was dropped when it was came out that the policemen were given DVD copies of The Punisher, Battlefield Earth, Look Who’s Talking, Look Who’s Talking Too and Perfect but only in Region 8 code.
All charges were dropped and all the tainted officers had to go into witness protection because several of them admitted to being confused when the DVDs wouldn’t work in their old Sony Betamaxes!
