Happy 20th anniversary to the true pioneer of right wing talk radio - Rush Limbaugh.
Rush is partly responsible for my turn to the right, though in a rather unusual way. After my mother died, I had a lot of trouble sleeping. In the mornings, when Dad left for work, I would get out of bed and curl up on the couch under a blanket with the TV on. I would usually manage to fall back to sleep right around the time Rush came on. Perhaps, by osmosis, much of my righty-ness seeped in during those hours on the couch. All I know is right about the time Janet Reno called for the broiling of innocent children in Waco, I was good and fed up with the Clinton administration.
Anyway, Rush was recently given an unprecedented $400million by Clear Channel to carry on for another eight years, with his wit, his satire, and his common sense.
