About time someone started listening to me
I’ve been saying this for seven years. Islam is a cult. When a cult gets busted up, many of the more vulnerable members (the sheeple) are sent into intense therapy to be deprogrammed. This is done with many death cults who have the potential to harm themselves and others. They are given cognitive behavioral therapy, taught to see and interpret things differently, and eventually learn to live new lives free from the poisonous constraints of their cult “groupthink.”
Why not do it with Islam?
Psychologists in the Prison Service will try to ‘cure’ extremist Muslim inmates of their political beliefs with controversial therapies similar to those used to ‘de-programme’ members of religious cults.
The experimental treatments are being developed by a special Extremism Unit set up by the Ministry of Justice in January last year, The Mail on Sunday has discovered.
Sources say the therapy forms part of a wide-ranging strategy to combat Islamic extremism in Britain’s jails.
Psychologists working with the Extremism Unit have for months been investigating ways of de-programming jihadists. Ministry sources said they planned to use ‘cognitive- behaviour’ methods, based on the notion that it is possible to change people’s behaviour by altering their perceptions and attitudes.
One source said: ‘It’s pretty clear it wouldn’t work with everyone. But our view of extremism is that, at the centre, the views of the hardcore, high-profile leaders will not be subject to change. But for those further out, it may be quite effective.’
Another source said: ‘Our focus is on protecting the public and on reducing the risk of offenders hurting others. It’s about stopping violence.’
Therapists would work with such prisoners individually, while the treatments would help the Prison Service determine whether prisoners would still be dangerous if released.
On the front line are approximately 150 prison imams, who are expected to challenge extremist beliefs on the basis of their own religious knowledge.
It’s about time that people put aside political correctness and start realizing that Islam is not like other religions. It is a religion mixed with a political and social ethos that is very, very dangerous to those outside it, and often dangerous even to those inside it. Like a cult. It’s time to have some Islamic brains sent out for drycleaning. Only then can we maybe learn to live alongside each other. Only when the timebomb has been deactivated.

I keep going back to Japan. When they were our enemies the entire population was subsumed in a flaky tribal suicidal death cult. We had to nuke them twice. Then the US laid down terms: you’re getting a democracy and btw, that religion of yours is now illegal.
Worked out well in the long run. BUT it isn’t like there were Japanese people all over the world. They were confined to a single island.
PS: adding to this problem is that some people insist that ‘cult deprogramming’ is a cult in its own right

Playing with fire here. Definition of “extreme cult” “Whatever I say it is.” Christian fundamentalist’s version might be a Unitarian; Episcopalian’s version a Southern Baptist.

Why do Canadians seem so much less chary than Yanks of these kind of free speech/free exercise of religion/free association infringements? Can’t they see that the power to “deprogram” Islamofascists (as attractive as that may sound at first blush) is also the power to persecute Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant?

I agree that Islam(is NOT simply a religion)but is a cult and should/must be severely dealt with. The only problem/obstacle to “de-programming” it/them is the liberal establishment(especially in America)and their belief that it would violate their(Islamic believers)right to freedom of religion. The liberal establishment in America is blind/ignorant/dumb to the difference between a valid/bonified religion and that of a terrorist organization. Just look at their(liberal establishment’s)objections, in America, to how the enemy combatants associated with/involved in the war on terror(Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan)were and are dealt with by the CIA, US(military)and International forces. They have subverted any and all methods to declassify info. from these people, break them up, try(as in court)/ sentence these people to life terms and to protect the rest of society from their(Islamic cultists)devastating tactics to harm and or annihilate those who do not believe in and follow their law. It just goes back to the basic problem solving method:you have to recognize that a problem in fact does exist. Liberal belief and imbeded doctrine in this country(US of America)is the stumbling block to taking direct and swift action against Islamic belief. Just look at the border security/illegal immigration problem we face in this country. The liberal attitude is not about how to best secure our borders(protect Americans), their attitude is about protecting an individuals priviledge to enter/remain(illegally)in our country. If a citizen goes after any of these illegal immigrants they are referred to as being XENOPHOBIC. If law enforcement attempts to enforce immigration law they are attacked for violating the law. If the US Gov’t./Immigration Service/Courts attempt to identify/arrest/try/deport illegal immigrants, well, they are accused of violating the US Constitution. I draw what comfort I can from the absolute certainty that as long as Conservative pundits confine themselves to this level of sophisticated analysis - Hey, Islam is a CULT, let’s DEPROGRAM THEM!- we will continue to enjoy the delightful spectacle of McCain’s plummet in the polls.
Fantasy is great - I read it myself - but it’s got to be leavened with a little reality.
