Empire of Debt: Ted Rogers has Died
Canada’s brightest and most successful business star has darkened. Our country has lost powerhouse Ted Rogers.
I was always in awe of the way Rogers leveraged debt in order to grow and grow (I have tons of debt, where’s MY fortune??) and create such a hugely successful company. Perhaps his heart finally gave out when I agreed to pay my bill. I’m sorry Teddy, if the shock killed you.

But regarding your reference to debt - I’m wondering where my fortune is too! I always tell people I live by this philosophy, “The one who dies owing the most wins.”

I once worked at a Rogers company and met him once at a massive ‘employee thank you’ bbq. I don’t know what he was really like but he gave off a positive friendly dude vibe that made an impression on me.
Without realizing it, he basically paid me to blog for four months after I got laid off, thanks to severance pay.
