Bettie Page, the brunet pinup queen with a shoulder-length pageboy hairdo and kitschy bangs whose saucy photos helped usher in the sexual revolution of the 1960s, has died. She was 85.

The greatest pinup girl of all time, page gave up her life as dominatrix and porn photo star to preach the gospel of Christ on street corners. Not that she gave up making the money. She took hold of her image and turned it into a multi-million dollar industry, licensing everything from posters to pens.
Because of that, the lovely Bettie Page will be with us forever, and her image will continue to thrill.
Sad. She was an icon. The day after you had your blog on her I got a collectables catalog in the mail with a Bettie Paige section in it. It had been years…
People don’t understand now what sexuality was in her ‘day’. By todays standards even what she is wearing in the picture on your blog is modest… yet back then it would have filled many a mans nights with pleasent dreams, hidden away from sight in the sock drawer or nightstand, so as your wife or mother wouldn’t find it.

I know this thread is well over a year old, but I feel I must bring up a few corrections:
Betty was never a professional dominatrix. Never. She posed for pictures, that is all.
Betty never did porn. Never. She posed nude and for fetish photos. Betty was never seen depicting a sexual act, especially with a man.
Betty Page was a model, period.
