Right on!
I feel sorry for England, Holland,France, etc...next will be Canada. We've already had to remove crucifixes from some of our schools, no prayers,etc...I am NOT an "infidel" to anyone! I'm 'who I am" because of my ancestors, their beliefs, their hard work, our 'past soldiers', wars, etc...and I'm proud to be a Catholic Canadian who obeys all of our laws, and pays tons of taxes to make OUR system work the way we voted for for the last 400 years!!!

The real enemy: Cynicism. Cynicism, and a dash of selfishness. It's always been so.

There is a saying I hear on a radio show I listen to all the time - "I care, I'm just not gonna do anything about it." Most of us care, and most of us choose not to do anything. Your right about individual statements and acts, but they do good only in making a bit of awareness to problems... but that IS something.

A BIG problem nowadays is the fact that we let "groups" dictate message and content. There is no History anymore, it's all viewpoints. There is certainly no Statesmanship. Our leaders only look to popularity and polls to determine their stance. We are so scared that we might be accused of some prejudice or affront that we allow our "our" thoughts and views to be trampled. The majority nolonger has standing, it's the "individual". We've tried to make the world perfect, and in doing so have almost distroyed it.

Martin Luther King had a dream, nobody remembers what that dream was. John F Kennedy asked us to ask what we could do for our country and not what our country could do for us. We loved him for it, and did just the exact opposite. George W. Bush wanted to bring a more civil atmosphere to Washington DC, to get compassion back into the mix. He was distroyed for his efforts.

There is no right and wrong anymore. When we erased that line we could no longer find our way.
