PHILADELPHIA — A family talking during a movie enraged a nearby viewer so badly that he shot the father in the arm, MyFoxPhiladelphia reports.

Philadelphia police say James Joseph Cialella Jr, 29, shot the man after a brief altercation inside the Riverview Movie Theatre.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm.

Cialella was still inside the theater when police arrived. He was found with a black Kel-Tec .380 handgun on the front of his waist.

Police arrested and charged him with attempted murder, aggravated assault, violation of uniform firearms act, possession of an instrument of a crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

  1. Let’s face it…when your neck is as thick as your head you have a very low tolerance.

The good news is that he used a nice, sterile, bullet. Imagine this guy biting you as you chatted. The razor burn alone would be ICU worthy.

  2. Sadly enough, I so sympathize with the shooter that it is dangerous. The last time that I actually went to a movie in the theater, there was a guy eating his popcorn from what was obviously a bag made from bubble-wrap directly behind me. Not only that, three or fifty emphysema patients were released from the hospital to see that movie.

Trust me, this guy was well within his rights.

  3. I’m sure the shooter was just frustrated out of his mind. He probably strayed into the Benjamin Button flick by accident. He was most likely looking for the latest Vin Diesel offering!

It must have been all of the dialogue on the screen that had him confused. I have the feeling that the movies this guy usually attends have more explosions than dialogue!

  4. They should have arrested the idiots doing the talking and given this guy a medal. Hopefully Bush will pardon him.

  5. Although I think the use of force was disproportionate and immoral, as an avid theatre-goer who regularly has to shut noisy people up, James Joseph Cialella is my new hero! God Bless America!
