When baby-killing goes wrong and…
… kills babies.
I don’t normally talk much about abortion. It’s not my shtick. I save that subject for the hundreds of pro-life bloggers out there who are fully versed in the subtle nuances of infanticide. And in turn, they leave the “all Muslims are evil” shtick to me. Welcome to the Internet - there’s room for everybody.
But I just had to say something about this.
The Board of Medicine has revoked the license of a Florida doctor accused of medical malpractice in a botched abortion case in which a live baby was delivered, but ended up dead in a cardboard box.
The Department of Health said Renelique was scheduled to perform an abortion on a teenager who was 23 weeks pregnant in 2006. Sycloria Williams had been given drugs in advance to dilate her cervix.
According to the complaint, she gave birth at a Hialeah clinic after waiting hours for Renelique to arrive. The complaint said one of the clinic owners put the baby in a bag that was thrown away.
Police found the infant’s decomposing remains a week later.
Wow. Just… wow. If you carry on reading the story, you’ll see that the “doctor” in question got his medical training from the back of a comic book, and never should have been practicing medicine outside the Third World.
Those in favor of abortion believe that the legalized, state-monitored availability of abortion clinics means that women will be treated professionally, cleanly and by doctors who are actually, you know, doctors. Yet this man is no better than the sketchy guy with the wire hanger doing kitchen abortions.
He either was too inept to recognize a live birth, or he callously didn’t care. Either way, not only should he lose his license, but so should everyone involved in the process of licensing him in the first place.

I cannot believe this thing happens, although I guess deep down you know it does. The “doctor” may have thought, because it was a scheduled abortion, he might as well just continue on with that plan. The fact the baby was alive was a mere inconvenience.

Just because there are bad “doctors” doesn’t mean that legalized abortion isn’t a better option than the back room guy with the hanger. Legalized abortions mean this guy is less likely to practice and far more likely to get sued. Oh, and after 20 weeks it was no longer a legal abortion anyway.

Leah
Abortions after 20 weeks are legal in the United States and Canada. It’s just that in the US there are actual restrictions after 20 weeks.

For all the pro-murders out there, like Leah, you never see one go on TV or in any other public forum and proudly proclaim they’ve had an abortion and murder they’re unborn child. Why is that? Since Roe V Wade there have been rougly 40 million babies murdered in the US and Canada kills about 100,000 a year. So you would think with all these women exercising their choice where are the ones proud of their choice? Perhaps Leah you could explain?

Welcome to the 3rd World America.
We’ll end up licensing other witch doctors too.

I have read at least 4 news stories which have stated “both sides” are “appalled.” What exactly about this incident appalls the pro-abortion side? Are they appalled that the baby died because it bled to death out of the umbilical cord, because the doctor didn’t arrive in time to dismember her in her mother’s womb or shove a scissor into her head and suck out her brains before her entire head exited the mother’s body? I’m waiting for the answer to this question…are they appalled that a baby was killed or are they appalled that the doctor didn’t arrive in time to do the killing himself?

Jenn - they’re appalled because the killing was done outside the womb. When the killing is done inside the womb, it’s totally OK because…because you can’t see the what the doctor is doing to the child!
It’s like the mother’s skin is a morality-proof barrier that absolves everyone!

It amazes me how people like that get licences in the first place to do anything medically related
