Kinsella doesn’t even tell himself the truth!
Maclean’s Magazine clearly tried very hard to project a good side to Warren Kinsella, but they seemed to have a little trouble finding it.
In their article: The “Prince of Darkness” is back in the Liberal fold by Martin Patriquin (who can expect to be served any day now), Maclean’s not only tells the rest of Canada about the bullying many of us were already privy to, but uses valuable column inches to show blatant lying and backtracking by the one known as The Lying Jackal.
In 2007, for example, Kinsella called Mark Steyn the “best conservative writer alive.” A year and a half later, Steyn was a “country club bigot and pompous windbag.”
Earlier this year, Kinsella attempted to have Kathy Shaidle, one of the bloggers invited to Israel, removed from a TVOntario current-affairs program, calling her “racist garbage” and sending a letter of complaint to Ontario’s minister of education. Yet Kinsella himself appeared on the same show with Shaidle two years before without protest-even though Shaidle’s controversial views on minorities and AIDS were well known at the time. He even posted the video clip of the show on his site, and wrote that Shaidle was “nice.” In 2006, Kinsella implied he couldn’t work for Ignatieff: “I simply object to too many of Michael Ignatieff’s views,” he wrote. Yet he will work in Michael Ignatieff’s war room in the next election. (Kinsella refused further comment.)
So is Warren Kinsella a liar? Or is he merely the consummate politician, following the prevailing winds of popular opinion? Maclean’s reports - you decide.

I would like to comment in this public forum about this guy, whose influence has caused a few people I know to stop writing on the internet for fear of persecution. But I do not live in a country that has free speech, so my discussion will be limited to private conversation with people I trust. There is no free speech in this country.

Fenris Badwulf:
There is no free speech in this country.
There will be again. With guys like Mark Steyn,Ezra Levant & Women like Kathy Shaidle, Kate Macmillan with Right Girl This is already turning this around. Monte Solberg gives some insight into why it got so bad with government not taking it seriously. With Shakedown they have no excuse anymore.

Well, we know he’s a liar…I have been calling him a liar for three years and he’s never sued me. QED.
Now, the more interesting question is just how far the Lying Jackal will go. We know he’ll spin friendships, and political antagonisms, and his “resignation” from the CJC and his advising anti-Semite sockpuppets. But will he go the distance? Will he kiss the black heels of Iggy and silence himself on Chinese cuisine, Muslim Holocaust deniers and such like. Will he drink the rancid Liberal kool-aid to the last cyanide laced drop.
For power, this wanna-be CSIS asset and Bristow protector would, I suspect kiss the chrome off any bumper you pointed him at.
But what if Iggy gets wise? What if Iggy says “Yikes, this is a loose cannon, a pinless grenade, a human shrapnel factory.” and cuts the Jackal loose. Hell hast no fury as a Jackal scorned.
He’ll sue everybody for being mean to the Jackal which is obviously defamatory.
Deep in his Jackal soul he knows that his best before date will be within a month or two of the death of his friend and fish Bart. Bart is not doing too well these days. The Jackal’s underbussing will be official as the fish goes belly up.

LIBERAL MP: Kinsella is no star witness
House of Commons, Wednesday, April 20, 2005
—-
Mr. Gilles Duceppe (Laurier—Sainte-Marie, BQ): Mr. Speaker, Warren Kinsella has stated, under oath, that members of the Prime Minister’s entourage arranged for Earnscliffe to get a contract and that the Prime Minister was aware of that fact. …
Hon. Ralph Goodale (Minister of Finance, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, again, the hon. gentleman seems to be relying upon some unreliable information. The allegations are not supported by the written record. They are not supported by the audit done by Ernst & Young. They are not supported by the Auditor General of Canada. They are not supported in the independent comments offered yesterday by Mr. Goldenberg. They are only supported by the opposition and even the deputy leader of the official opposition calls that source poisoned partisanship.
…
Mr. Benoît Sauvageau (Repentigny, BQ): … What does the Prime Minister have to say about Warren Kinsella’s statement under oath that the former finance minister had even called him at home to complain? …
Hon. Ralph Goodale (Minister of Finance, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, the remark with respect to the alleged telephone call is completely fallacious.
…
Mr. Peter MacKay (Central Nova, CPC): Mr. Speaker, raging Liberal Warren Kinsella raised concerns as far back as 1995 through memos, letters and phone calls about rigged contracts that he felt favoured the company employing the Prime Minister’s leadership campaign manager. …
Hon. Ralph Goodale (Minister of Finance, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, again the hon. gentleman is simply following the wrong path. Mr. Kinsella is not supported by the written record that has been filed with the public accounts committee. He is not supported by any of the audits that have been done, either by Ernst & Young externally or the Auditor General internally. Some of his testimony yesterday was directly contradicted by Mr. Goldenberg. Indeed, the only support he has is from the opposition and that very member has described him as a “poisoned partisan”. So much for his star witness.

Richard Kinsella. LOL. Love that one. He is a Liberal hack windbag.
I agree with the first poster. Hirsi Ali was on Rob Brenckenridge saying true democracies allow free speech - she was thinking of phony democracies in Europe, but her comment was right at home here in Canada.
