Saturday: Iran and more Iran
I’m not here, and I’m not blogging. I’m over on Twitter, watching big things unfold. The images coming out are unbelievable. I just watched a girl die in the streets of Tehran.
Brass Balls Radio will be released on iTunes tomorrow, and will include an interview with Steve Schippert and Winston, talking together about the present and future of the Iranian regime.
But here’s the thing - Iran is still an Islamic shithole, no matter the outcome of the revolution. They will still hate America, still hate the West, still burn the Stars and Stripes. But they will have democracy. And they will be working toward freedom. Baby steps.
Anyway, back to Twitter. Later, y’all.

It is truly sad that the lunatics run the asylum in Iran. Every country should allow opposition to policy and allow people to live as free men and women. Sometimes the results are great. Other times not so great. But when a government is afraid of its people and will not allow them to freely assemble, that government must go.
Sir WSC wrote so long ago “If a government has no moral scruples it often seems to gain great advantages and liberties of action, but all comes out at the end of the day, and all will come out yet even more when all the days are ended.”
The Ayatollahs and their myrmidoms may answer only to themselves on this planet, in this life. But they too will be judged by their maker - whether it be God, Allah or some alien life form who has created us all in petri dishes.
Obama too will be judged by the same criterion, but will be held accountable for his inaction and destruction of the freedoms that we in the US had before he came to the throne as “teh one”, annointed to save all of us (except the joooooooooooooooooos).
Keep watching Wendy. The whole world is watching. This is the promise of “The religion of Peace” in action.

That’s where you’re wrong. Iranian regime has made Iran become a shithole of Islamic sort. You’re confusing and mixing the mullahs with the people of Iran. The people who are fighting this regime don’t hate the US or have no affection for the Islamofascists. I expected better from you on this though.

Winston, I disagree. Khameni and co no more operate in a vacuum than any of the world’s great thugs. Iran is not a monarchy like Saudi Arabia, so their leaders are leaders by choice. The choice of the people. Khameni didn’t wake up one day and decide to rule Iran - someone believed in him enough to get a bunch of other someones to support him. The same with Ahmedinejad. Enough people supported him to make him a household name. Like Hitler.
Enough people bow to Khameni for Friday prayers in Tehran to tell me that to some, he is a good leader. And yesterday in Toronto I saw the Regime flag flying from a car. They have supporters. It’s just that for the last 10 days, their supporters have been out-numbered.

Wrong. Khamenei was not elected by the people. Khamenei and co were APPOINTED themselves by force and by holding the Iranian people at the point of guns. Those idiot flying regime flag in Canada are morons first, and ignorant second. Yeah, he had enough thugs to believe in him and appoint him and portray it to the western world as if it was the will of the people. Khamenei in Iran is as elected as Castro in Cuba or ex PM Trudeau of Canada for that matter. I don’t know how you can voice your opinion if there’s a gun pointed to your head. And yes Mullahs….. including Khamenei woke up one day and decided to rule Iran, that simple, because they thought it is their divine rule. I definitely think you need to read Iranian history to see how they came to power. Massacring tens of thousands of their opponents. It’s unfair to say these things about Iran.
I think you need to read Amir Taheri’s book Persian Night that just came out. It’s an informative read. Then try Con Coughlin’s Khomeini’s ghost. Check Michael Rubin’s Eternal Iran. They’re must reads for anyone trying to comment on the Iranian issues.

hmmm….you’re telling an Iranian (Winston) how things work in Iran? Excuse me, but take a step back … he’s right, you’re wrong. And your ignorance about Iran is quite obvious even to non-Iranians. (not to mention your bigotry toward muslims, of which there are all kinds, some serving in our military, being wounded & dying along with non-muslims)
Now, read & study more on Iran and you’ll understand what happened leading up to the revolution and since, and you’ll appreciate that the Iranian people have been prisoners, oppressed and terrorized by their leaders, not merrily living as America haters. The vast majority of Iranian muslims consider themselves secular muslims, not the zealots you seem to think they all are.
Then look at some photos of Iran, learn more about its history, culture and people, and you won’t refer to it as a “shithole”. It’s an incredibly beautiful country, rich in culture with people again & again described as the friendliest toward Americans, and most hospitable people in the world.
Winston is right - of course he is, he’s Iranian - the leaders weren’t elected or chosen by the people, they were appointed. Every election has been a sham not just this one. After all that’s been written on Iran in the past 2 wks, you should know that by now.
Iran was a great ally before its revolution 30 yrs ago, and will be again as soon as this rotten regime ends.
