SIMPLE TRUTH: We don’t agree with his policies.

We know socialism is a failure every where it is tried. We don’t want constant high unemployment, exploding deficits and a weaker America. We believe his policies if pushed through will destroy our economy and our country as we know it and we will not sit idly by and accept it, nor will we keep a civil tongue. Civil political discourse is just a polite way of saying S T F U.

Disagree with Barry = racist.
Disagree with Barry at a protest rally = racist.
Disagree with Barry while talking w/co-workers = racist.
Label the opposition as racist no matter what they do or how they voice their protest. Yeah I read Saul Alinsky’s book Rules for Radicals, and I strongly recommend every one go to the library and check it out. That ‘dark reality’ comment is a back handed way of labeling protesters as racist.

I have been to 4 protests and have yet to see anything like described above. I have never been unwelcome, instead I have been welcomed and accepted as just another face in the crowd. There is no racism at the core of these protests, and it is definitely “not out in the open for many very significant people in this protest.”

Just like BO I am of mixed blood just not 50/50 like him. My wife is black (actually closer to milk chocolate brown) and our children are brown. I have a rhetorical question : Am I or my wife a racist? I already know the answer because the liberal mind will just refer to me/us as “house nigger, uncle Tom, sell-out, etc.” The words may not be spoken aloud, but they will be thought, and that is my ‘dark reality’.

So yeah, Chuck is right; that last sentence does some it all up nicely.

Is it about policy or race to call Obama an “Indonesian muslim [...] racist in chief”?

Is it about policy or race to carry pre-printed mass produced placards with Obama in a African tribe gear, or telling him to “Go back to Africa”?

And that is from the most public leaders of these protests like Glen Beck and Mark Williams and doesn’t even touch the many whackos out there.

I’ll make two comments to go along with my rhetorical quesions.

1. The small petty comment is that calling the protests racist because some of the leaders and many of the protestors are overtly racist is like calling Liberals anti-semitic because they attend a rally at which some idiot carries a Hamas flag or a Tamil Tigers flag. Is turnaround fair play? Another rhetorical question.

2. On a more serious point, I think the protests are mostly not about race actually. Even the idiotic and infantile “Nazi/Stalin” references don’t bug me really - for anyone paying attention, I’d guess pretty much every single protest movement in the US since the 1940s has tried to demonize the then President that way. The US has survived.

But there is a dark reality to this protest movement that I think is unique and could have a more lasting negative effect on the US. The racism is not at the core of these protests but it is there and it is out in the open for many very significant people in this protest. And no one in the protest is even acknowledging it. In fact, the only response at all is to claim it isn’t even there, including in this rant post. And it is getting worse.

I’ll leave it at that, without the civil farewell you have blessed us all with.

Then again, where were they when Condoleeza Rice, Michel Steele, J.C. Watts, Star Parker, Clarence Thomas and other conservative Blacks were being lambasted in the media and on TV because of their race.

Hypocrits?
