I use mine as a mini agenda. It fits perfectly into my purse or backpack pocket and I use it to write down addresses and directions to appointments as well as to jot down notes, names, phone numbers and email addresses. My husband gave it to me for Christmas and it is almost full; I’m going to ask him for another one this Christmas.

I like Wendy a lot and wanted to give her something that I think is attractive and extremely useful.

The notebooks are not cheap, and people on a tight budget might not be able to justify purchasing one, which is what makes them such a nice gift.

In my unpretentious opinion. ; )

The pattern is that pretentious writers use Moleskine notebooks. So maybe she thinks you’re pretentious. They are also popular with today’s “happening professional.” Who want to prove they are classically low-tech.

You can buy notebooks - either ruled or with graph paper or blank - at something like 99 cents each. They don’t have cool covers though.

I know this because for some of my writing I am classically low-tech. But also too cheap to buy a Moleskine.
