Toronto Transit Commission - the irony

Today the head of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Bob Kinnear, told the Toronto public not to call TTC employees “lazy” or “overpaid“.

This sleeping ticket collector makes over $26 an hour

I’m gagging on the irony.

  1. I like how he also says “Stop harassing people who are doing their jobs.”

Umm…Maybe when these TTC employees start actually doing their jobs! $26/hour to sleep — where do I sign up?

  4. That’s acutally $75 with full benefit and full pension when they retire.

I noticed that they have a better way to sleeze off now, last sunday morning i noticed this guy put some reading material on the desk and pretend he was reading but in fact sleeping, couple people passed him and he wasn’t looking or moving; i didn’t knock on the window in fear i might trigger a heart attack reaction.

Another cashier put on a pair of sunglasses so no one can see if she has her eyes closed or not.

  5. Sadly everything is about “entitlement” now. Accountability (sp?),is fast tracking to bin #13! As for the TTC, well are they screwing us, or are we screwing them, or is their leader screwing everything “in heat”? I still say Layton has his eyes on Toronto??

  6. No surprise here. I have worked for State and City governments, I could offer some outrageous anecdotes.

  7. And let’s not forget the $10.00 to $15.00 an hour all their contract spiffs cost the taxpayer, in addition to regular hourly wage.
