Explosion in Moscow kills nine. Or did it?

December 20th, 2008

Gotta love Russian news. An accidental fireworks thing went off at a mall and killed nine people. Police however evacuated and searched the whole mall for other explosive devices. I guess those malls have hidden boxes of fireworks all over the place that can just go off at any time.
Other news sources say its gang turf wars. Russian news is notorious for lack of facts and truth. It is a good bet an explosion killed nine. that much is safe.

At least nine people were injured Saturday in an explosion occurred at a market in southern Moscow, Russian news agencies reported.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday afternoon in a street market near the Prazhskaya metro station, injured nine people, including a child, RIA Novosti cited a police source as saying.

The blast was caused by an unknown explosive device, the source said, adding that the remains of the explosive device have been already discovered.

However, a spokesman for the Emergency Situations Ministry said the explosion was caused by fireworks that went off accidentally.

According to a Moscow police spokesman, people have been evacuated from the market and police have inspected the market for other possible explosive devices.

Even the MSM has Noticed

Sales of rifles, pistols and ammo are surging in parts of the United States, as many gun owners fear President-elect Barack Obama’s administration may seek to tighten ownership of certain weapons.

“The day after the election, I had many more calls than usual from people looking for semi-automatic rifles,” said David Greenberg, the owner of the Second Amendment Family Gun Shop, in Bisbee, Arizona, who sold out of AR-15 rifles in recent days.

“There seems to be a fear they will be banned, and it’s fairly likely,” he added. “Obama and Biden are driven to eliminate firearms from the face of the country.”

Welcome to the new reality, Comrades. All the really good dictators know that an armed society cannot be an acquiescent society. First there will be a Canadian-style gun registry, so the government can get the names and addresses of all gun owners. Then comes the raids. Good luck, and Godspeed.

One Day Left to the Election

November 3rd, 2008

This time tomorrow, half the electorate will have voted (I hope).

I admit to being worried - not in the short term, because we are fairly safe here at Castle Argghhh, but for the longer term, regardless of how the election goes. Honestly, I would love to see America finally put its sordid past behind it and elect a black president - just not this one. I worry for the liberty of Americans of all classes.

Chicago is in lockdown in case Obama loses - they expect riots. Ditto Detroit. What does that say about the country?

Yet at the same time, I really hope he does lose. Communism has no place in America - America has always staunchly defended itself from that tyranny, even when it previously infiltrated the highest levels of government. But do enough Americans today have the knowledge to continue to fight it? After all, the education system has been rife with commie sympathizers since the “Me First” generation took hold of the country in the 60’s and 70’s. Which means the past two generations of Americans have not been taught enough about the failures of socialism and communism around the world. They have only been taught the ideologies that the poor will be taken care of and everyone will live in harmony (cue John Lennon). Sorry, but if you are getting your education from the Beatles, there’s something wrong with the system.

I grew up at the beginning of the Reagan era. I remember the vitriol being spewed from the left. I also remember the vitriol spewed from the right during the looooong Clinton era. But I do not remember seeing the kind of violence and sheer hatred we are seeing today. What has happened?

Some crazy talk radio host on the left has called for the death of Joe the plumber. The death of an average American citizen who doesn’t want to give up his earned money to Obama. Apparently that’s all it takes to get you lynched in this New World Order. If you speak out against Obama, you must die. Holy shit!

The hatred of Sarah Palin and her family continues unabated with the Wonkette crowd screeching about how Trig Palin, the Down Syndrome infant, wishes he’d been aborted.

Little baby Trig must be so glad he wasn’t aborted for this, his first Halloween, because his parents dressed him up like a political party symbol to be carried around at snarling political events. Aww. Isn’t life just grand?

Trig Palin and his posse just happened to show up the the door of Brass Balls Radio co-producer Mike Williams on Halloween evening, and was a typical burbling gurgling happy baby being carried from house to house by his mom and his sister. For shame? I think not.

From the Wonkette comments:

Ugh. I hate that look people get on their face when they are happy to be holding a baby. It is all domestic and other disturbing things.

Initially they were going to have trig dress up as an aborted fetus

Wait, is Trig the baby with Down syndrome? … yuck.

Judging from the costume, the parents are the real retards.

I thought an unaborted mongoloid baby was the symbol of the Republican Party.

These are the people who will have control of America come January if the rest of you allow it to happen tomorrow. As much as I dislike invoking Godwin’s Law, I must. Hitler’s euthanasia program was developed to remove imperfection from the race. Cripples and the retarded were tossed out with the Jews and the gypsies like last week’s Brussels sprouts. Is this what America wants to become?

And as if the above weren’t enough, I need to remind you of this:

We are judged by the company we keep. And right now The Man Who Would Be King keeps company with the people quoted above at Wonkette, as well as domestic terrorists and anarchists. Stop and think before you pull the lever tomorrow America. You may be pulling the lever on your own destruction.

What are the Russians up to?

February 12th, 2008

On Saturday, Russian bombers were “escorted” away from a flyover of the USS Nimitz battleship in the Pacific. Apparently they are trying to assert themselves over the US plan to build missile defence shields in former Soviet countries like the Czech Republic. But why?

A U.S. military official says that one Russian Tupolev 95 flew directly over the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz twice, at a low altitude of about 2,000 feet, while another bomber circled about 58 miles out. The official was speaking on condition of anonymity because the reports on the flights were classified as secret.

If the US is saying it needs these shields to defend its allies (which to my knowledge currently includes the Ruskies) from attack from Iran, why is Russia so nervous? Well, maybe it’s because Russia has been supplying Iran’s nukes. I’ve been thinking about htis a lot lately, but not in much depth, which I really ought to remedy… During the Cold War, we (the West) equipped Islamic nations like Afghanistan and Chechnya to fight the Soviets. Yet now, as Putin shifts ever further back into leftist totalitarianism, those two groups - the Commies and the Islamists - seem to be banding together, despite their differing ideologies.

Which now leaves America on guard against China and North Korea - both Commie countries. Add Russia - almost Commie. And now Islamic countries that are being suplied by Communist countries. Looking at it from a macro point of view, it’s terrifying to think that we may have to fight the Cold War again, but this time we’ve thrown hot-blooded Jihadis into the mix, to work against us instead of for us.

And it’s not only us the Russians are trying to assert themselves against - our greatest ally against the ChiComs and North Koreans is Japan.

Japan, meanwhile, filed a formal protest with the Russian Embassy in Tokyo after Saturday’s incident, saying that one of the Russian bombers crossed into Japanese airspace for three minutes. Russia has denied there was an intrusion.

Obamasamarama

Viva la Revolucion.

Sure, it’s the low road to compare Obama to Osama, even though Obama was educated in a madrassa.

So let’s instead compare him to the underworld hero whose flag he has tacked to his campaign office in Houston: Che Guevara.

When we are silenced, will the men speak up?

November 24th, 2007

So they finally admitted it. The Canadian Human Rights Commission finally admitted what they are really about: Censorship.

And, he says, when he had a conversation with a Commission employee, mediator Bob Fagan, about the specifics of the allegation, he was astonished at what he heard.
“I told him that it seemed to be an abuse of the Human Rights Act for someone to try and use it as an instrument of censorship. And when I said that, on the phone, there was a pause and then he said, in a somewhat astonished tone: ‘But the Human Rights Act is about censorship’. Then it was my turn to be silent on my end, because I found that breath-taking. For the Human Rights Commission’s own mediator to acknowledge that censorship was the purpose of their Act.”

From the horse’s mouth. So can we now, in good conscience, allow it to continue? We’ve basically been told that - like under communist regimes - our speech and opinions are being silenced to the whims of political correctness.

Kathy wrote about this issue yesterday:

I hope Emmanuel isn’t counting on getting support from the cowardly, careerist “conservative” male bloggers in this nation, who time and again have revealed themselves to be more interested in watching Family Guy than fighting for what’s right.

It’s true. The likes of the Blogging Tories and their ilk are more interested in preparing graphs and poll numbers, visions of party wonk jobs dancing in their uninspired heads, to bother to stand up and shout for the very things the party is supposed to represent.

Kathy, Kate and I can be out there shouting like Canadian Coulters, drawing attention to issues that affect us all and getting people talking, and all the while the men write us off as “too controversial” and kick us out of their clubhouses. When one of us gets a death threat, we only have each other to depend on - Stephen Taylor et al are too busy agreeing with those who seek to silence us, so that maybe they’ll be seen as progressive enough score a policy job.

To be clear, we don’t expect every conservative in Canada to agree with us - heck, we don’t even agree with each other half the time - but when we’re out there stirring up the bigger issues that affect not only this country but civilization as we know it, we would very much appreciate it if you would quit slagging dead-horse Stephane Dion long enough to defend our right to say the things we’re saying, instead of just knee-jerking us in the balls you are oh so jealous we possess.
