Well, my final flight with Frontier Airlines, anyway. If I’m going to take that kind of abuse, I’m gonna want dinner, too. My 90 minute flight took nearly 9 hours to accomplish, and was twice the price because they lost the first booking for me & Bug. The 1330 flight I was scheduled for never took off because the mechanics couldn’t find the left wing (there isn’t a left wing in Kansas, guys). We were unceremoniously booted off after two hours on the tarmac, and then abused by staff from the airline who made it clear they didn’t think our inconvenience (or the whereabouts of my poor dog) were their problem.

So we all got overbooked onto the 1630, with the exception of the three obvious airline employees who got booted (sigh. I remember those days of flying on passes - pain in the ass). I was ready to give up my seat if I had to, because there was a mom flying out to her son’s Marine graduation in California. It began at 6 this morning, and I hope she had a good time! Anyway, we both got on, the plane left pretty close to on-time, and Stacy thanked her luck that she only lives ten minutes from the airport, given that she made oh-so-many trips to pick me up yesterday!

Bug was a little trooper - turns out he was way better treated than us bipeds on the plane. Of course, he paid more for his ticket! Who knew that cargo = first class?? If there’s ever a next time (there won’t be), I will be sure to fly in the hold!

Anyhow, I finally and tearfully arrived just after dark. I was escorted to my new digs - the square footage of my bed/bath area is about the size of my last apartment in Toronto (and probably costs less by the foot, too). I am in the suburbs here. I haven’t been in ‘burbs in a looooong time. That whole “drive five miles for a quart of milk” thing applies. Of course, it applied with Castle Argghhh! Farm, too.

Stacy has three sons, conveniently named #1, #2 and #3. #1 moved out, and I have his room. #3 is hilarious, and fascinated by the fact that my non-dog pees on a pad. If I ever catch this particular boy peeping into my room, I will know it will have nothing to do with me, and everything to do with my dog’s elimination habits. I suggested to Stacy she get him therapy before she starts finding body parts in the freezer!

This weekend I will learn all about the wrestling club she and her husband run. You see, they are “community organizers” and Stacy will run for president based on that. So watch for it: Stacy 2012!! She’s even prettier than Sarah Palin, too!

More to come. It’s cloudy, so I can’t really see the mountains today, but next week we go to the cabin for Thanksgiving, and it’s really beautiful there. Pics to follow!

I’ve been on it for nearly two years now, and I no longer have panic attacks when blasts from the past hit me up for a “friend” link.

The first time one of my maternal cousins dropped a note, I logged out of Facebook for a month. Oh, don’t get me wrong, it’s not an ill-will thing. It’s more of a “please don’t make me remember what our childhood was like because it was insufferable and even thinking your name brings up terrible memories” thing. Kind of like what it must be like for those that go through a battle together. Bound for life, integral to the healing, but just really tough to deal with.

But now… not so much. I have actually been carrying on a conversation with one of my Long Losts for the past few months, and I love it! Of course, we were closest in age (that’s a really big deal in a family where we were 2 of 156 grandchildren and 126 great-grandchildren - as of the count done in 1987), so relating to each other is easier than it has been with some of the others. Yet it isn’t like we had a friendship from childhood as a starting point. He was there, around the house, for sleepovers when I was in footie pajamas and he was in Spidey Underoos. He and/or his mom made the occasional trip to The Cottage with us. And of course there were the dozens of funerals (inevitably in the coldest winters) that would have the clan flocking to our version of Deliverance in Northern New Brunswick. But our lives as cousins or friends seemed to end when Howard (the old Indian) died in 1987. Without its patriarch, there was no family.

And with very much pleasure, my mother’s family cut me off completely when she died - I pretty much did the same to them, too. It was the healthier option. Do you know there is actually a sort of “support” group on the Interwebs for us descendants? Where we regurgitate shit to get it out of our nightmares, and then go back to ignoring each other? Every family ought to have one!

So yeah, the panic attack thing isn’t foolish or overly dramatic. I’d say you “had to be there”, but I wouldn’t wish that on you. I am just so thrilled that I have been able to connect with my Long Lost and get past the hyperventilation phase. He was fun as a kid, and he’s interesting and cool as a grownup. And yeah, I did make it a point to tease him about the Underoos.

This post has proven very popular this week, and I’m glad I could be of some use to the Brits who have been kept in the dark by their courts.

However, I cannot approve comments calling for the murder to Tracey Connolly, no matter how much the bitch deserves it. The United Kingdom is not a capital punishment state, and Tracey cannot be put to death for the brutal neglect and beating death of her son, Peter.

British law is already being broken by having Tracey Connolly’s name known. That said, do you really want me put in a position to have to hand over your IP address if I get subpoenaed? Then we’d both be screwed.

Here’s a little bit of info for you: Tracey stands a great chance of surviving women’s prison, because women kill their babies all the time. Without even getting into the societal degradation caused by that pesky “right to choose”, there is little stigma attached to felony murderers who are women and kill their children. Mostly we just shrug it off as post-partum or some other made-up disease. So the women she will be shacking up with will be unlikely to off her for her heinous crime.

Tracey will come out of prison alive. And yeah, that sucks. But you have to just suck it up and live with it, or work to get your laws changed in Britain to stop protecting criminals.

Trust to karma regarding Tracey, and work to make sure that something stronger than karma deals with the next horrible person that does this. Don’t just bitch - get involved. Change the laws that protect her.

The mind reels, yet it shouldn’t. I grew up in a post-Trudeaupian Canada, so stuff like this shouldn’t shock me. After all, I went to public school, where your common sense is dimmed by a barrage of unionized sycophants to the nanny state.

In Canada, Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant - both successful, suspiciously Jewish (or Jewish sounding) men - get accused of hate crimes and dragged through a high-cost, no-win situation. People like Rev. Stephen Boisson, who quote Leviticus because it’s their fucking job to do so get persecuted and finally forced to renounce their faith, because they committed a hate crime according to the Marsupial Magistrates. They spend hundreds of thousands of dollars they may not have to defend themselves against Orwellian thought crimes.

But when a Jihadi-humping Muslim bombs a Jewish school in the name of Allah in Canada, he doesn’t get hit with a hate crime. No, he gets a measly four years in prison, cut down to 10 months thanks to our absurd “time served” laws. Even though the judge admitted it was an act of “terrorism” he gets just four years.

I assume that was all negotiated by a taxpayer funded public defender, unlike what those accused of Section 13 thought crimes get.

So remember kids - if you bomb a Jewish school in the name of Allah, you get 4 years and a public defender. But if you write about people who bomb Jewish schools in the name of Allah, you commit a hate crime and will be destroyed by the Marsupials.

Welcome to Canada. Have you anything to declare?

You know that Carbonite Backup thingy I ordered a few weeks ago? Thank God (and Rush Limbaugh) that I did. No, I haven’t had a problem yet, but the laptop continues to be finicky, and a friend who has the exact same model just had hers lock up and die two days ago. It may be a Dell flaw - hey at least this flaw doesn’t cause the laptop to burst into flames in your lap like the last time Dell had issues!

Anyway, Carbonite is doing a 15 day free trial if you want to try it. Which, if you have a Dell Inspiron 1520 or 1720 (I have the 1720), you may want to do it. Now. Right now, before your computer crashes in 3…2…1…

I swear, they make these products for people like me, who were to cheap to buy the infallible Mac and stuck with MicroFuckingSoft PC (Piece of Crap).

Germany, a country we had to go in and dismantle due to its run-amok socialism, is doing better than we are, because it doesn’t subscribe to the single-payer system. Only communist countries like Cuba and Canada make it illegal to source your own health care.

Yet still Canadians can’t bring themselves to do anything about it.

Despite the negatives, only 16 per cent of the Canadian respondents said the country’s health-care system should be completely rebuilt. Among the eight countries, only Dutch and British respondents were less likely to think their entire systems needed to be overhauled.

Modify HRC Jurisdiction
PROPOSED BY VICTORIA AND KELOWNA - LAKE COUNTRY

iii) The Conservative Party supports legislation to remove authority from the Canadian Human Rights Commission and Tribunal to regulate, receive, investigate or adjudicate complaints related to Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.

This will be read out at the Conservative Party convention this week. And as the delegates and conventioneers file into the convention, they will receive our pamphlet.

This pamphlet was created by Canada’s free speech cabal, that group hated by the left. A copy will be faxed and/or emailed to every MP in Canada.

Lefties hate me, and the feeling is mutual. However, I will defend their right to be assholes. Only a select few have said the same in reverse.

I ran out of medication this week. The lack of it knocks out my equilibrium, and I’ve been throwing up for days. I can’t face the stairs to the basement, because they keep swaying. Thing is, I can’t afford the pills. I haven’t had health insurance since February, and last filled the prescription back in July for $200. Now I’m in the USA, have to see a doc for a new scrip, and then go buy them. I think I ought to get used to the swaying stairs, instead!

Here’s what really pisses me off, though. It isn’t the vomiting or the dizziness. It’s the fact that my marriage would have ended in vain.

Mr. Right - who obviously wasn’t, for me anyway - had one role in our life together: To take care of me. I dealt with everything else, but he had to make sure that I woke up every day. His job was to keep this fragile being together. He was the very best at it. He gave body and soul to make sure I could function.

And then one day I went to the doctor, and she gave me a prescription for something called Effexor XR. Life changed. I learned to cope. Life became a little easier to bear. And Mr. Right suddenly didn’t have a role. A drug that made me normal downsized my husband right out of our marriage. It was Sophie’s Choice - do I lose my love, or my life? We talked it over. He could not believe I was even considering coming off the pills, for him. He wouldn’t stand for it.

We broke up.

Marriages crumble all the time because one member goes crazy - NOT because one member gets normal! What an unusual situation.

If I am off these pills for good, then I will have lost my husband for nothing.

I’m still not out of my overdraft, and can’t afford to buy the pills. Every credit card has been frozen for months. The income I have now doesn’t cover minimum payments or bring my bank account up to speed.

Help. Please?

(black humor alert) Besides, do you really want me off my meds while living in a house with a larger collection of guns than that found at your local Bass Pro???

As long as us “honkeys” keep being scared of being called racists, the Muslims will keep taking us over inch by inch.

A taxi driver who claimed his religion forbade him from giving a lift to a blind man and his guide dog has been fined £300.

Ali Raza Roshanmoniri arrived to pick up Christopher Odell from the school where he works as a voluntary counsellor - but then refused to take him as a passenger with his dog.

The driver told Mr Odell it was against his religion to carry dogs and eventually the car company sent a replacement taxi to collect the counsellor.

In Toronto, I would always tell the cab company if I was traveling with my dog, and that I didn’t want to hear one single word about Allah. Funny, but I always seemed to get a Greek or Italian cab driver when I did that. It got to the point where I would tell the cab company that I had a dog with me, even when I didn’t. Why? Because I can. I’m the customer.

In Minneapolis they had a problem with airport cabbies not accepting passengers carrying Duty Free alcohol. What if they chose not to pick up a drunk for that same reason, so that drunk got behind the wheel of his car instead?

There’s a word for cab drivers not willing to carry passengers: Unemployed.

Let’s make sure they’re always addressed that way, till they smarten up and get over their 6th century bullshit.

By the way, you bleeding heart liberals, do you realize that not only are these cabbies discriminating against the handicapped, they are also racists. Hear that? Racists. They don’t like us because us whities are Infidels. Why is it ok for them to dislike us, but not the other way around?
