Watch the Ford F-150 Raptor’s Hugely Capable Suspension Pound the Ground [Video] ""

By | August 10, 2017

One of the most important features on the Ford F-150 Raptor is its set of standard Fox Racing dampers. These high-tech shocks are capable of 13.0 inches of travel in the front and 13.9 inches at the rear, helping make the Raptor a Baja-ready monster right off the assembly line.

The Fox Racing shocks, standard on the Raptor, use a 3.0-inch internal-bypass setup [explained here], which is designed to provide firmness at either end of travel while being softer in the middle. This allows for a stable on-road ride, along with the ability to take some serious hits at speed.

To find out what this suspension looks like on the job, the YouTube channel TheStraightPipes mounted cameras in the front and rear wheel wells and went off-roading. As you’ll see, those shocks are hellaciously capable.
